These bikes have come off the production line with minor cosmetic flaws.To avoid waste, these bikes are sold at a price that reflects their condition.Photos illustrating the defects that could be seen are available in the photos section.

How are these products tested?

Regardless of its origin, every second-hand item passes through the expert hands of our teams before being put back for sale.As with our new products, safety remains our top priority!Our experts have therefore developed checklists adapted to each type of product.The goal?To check every component with precision, whether in-store or in the warehouse, and ensure that only 100% reliable equipment is given a new lease of life in your hands.

Choosing the right size bike

You should choose the size of your bike based on your height, as well as your build (arm span and leg length). If you are between sizes, the smaller size will give you a more athletic position, while the larger size will give you a more comfortable position. The carbon has been designed to provide good lateral rigidity and good filtering of frontal vibrations. Handlebar / stem / steering

DRIVETRAIN

To ensure the availability of our bikes, we moved to a Microshift 9-speed drive train that has been approved for cycle touring use. Microshift FD R352B 31.8 mm front derailleur (collar mount) Microshift R43M 9-speed rear derailleur

Crankset / cassette

Microshift CS-H092 9V 11/32 cassette (11/13/15/17/19/21/24/28/32). Prowheel 50/34 bottom bracket. Crank length varies according to size of bike: XS, S, M : 170mm. L,XL: 175mm.

BRAKES

Promax DSK-300R disc brakes. 160 mm disc brakes at front and rear JAGWIRE anti-compression hosing to ensure braking precision and efficiency Semi-metal pad, after-sales service ref. 8562868 It is necessary to bed in the brakes.Simply brake gradually 20 times at a low speed (20 km/h), then repeat at 30 km/h. Make sure to bed in both brakes. Bedding in creates more friction between the disc and brake pad.

WHEELS

Which mudguards can you put on this bike?

It can take the SKS Bluemels matt 35 mudguards set (ref: 8385659) or the Flash black road bike saddle mudguard (ref:8327786). Enter the product code into the search bar on the Decathlon website to find out more about these products.

Is the RC500 bike designed for bikepacking?

Yes, this bike was designed for bicycle touring on roads, including bikepacking. That means you can install light bags, for example on the saddle, on the frame, and on the handlebars. Thanks to its comfort, the RC500 is the perfect companion for long journeys in the saddle. This bike is not however a bike for travelling. We do not recommend overloading it with larger travel bags on the pannier rack, for example.
